The Big Read is Catawba County's community-wide reading initiative between Hickory Public Library, Catawba Valley Community College, Catawba County Library system, and Lenoir-Rhyne University.

The mission of The Big Read project is to celebrate the power of books and the importance of reading.

Join us in reading this year's selection March by Geraldine Brooks.

The Big Read 2009 will conclude on April 24th
with a free public appearance by Geraldine Brooks.
