The Catawba County Library System is the lead partner for the 2008 Big Read. The Main Library in Newton serves as the headquarters for the seven branch system. Branches include Sherrills Ford, Maiden, St. Stephens, Southwest (Mountain View), Conover, and Claremont. |

The Hickory Public Library is a department of the City of Hickory and has two branches. The Patrick Beaver Memorial Library is the main facility and the Ridgeview Branch is located in the Ridgeview community. This partner will serve as the lead agency for the 2009 Big Read. |

Lenoir-Rhyne College is a co-educational, private liberal arts institution founded in 1891. Located in Hickory, NC, the college offers a foundation in the arts, humanities, social sciences, language, religion, and natural sciences. Approximately 1,500 students from across the country and the world attend Lenior-Rhyne. |

Catawba Valley Community College is a two-year institution that offers a variety of vocational and technical education programs that can be completed in two years. The college transfer program gives students the first two years of a four-year college education. |
